The Delaware/Maryland AgrAbility Project hosted a Back Safety Workshop on February 11, 2009, after noting that back injuries are the leading cause of disability in their project area. This workshop addressed such issues as: lifting techniques and injury prevention, understanding your back and body, treatment and management of back injuries, as well as a time to ask experts about various back issues. The half-day session included a free lunch and health screenings for the attendees. The Project continues to keep the region informed of its activities and services through radio and other media outlets.
