The Vermont AgrAbility Project hosted Dr. Therese Willkomm this past July for a day long workshop: “Farming Safely to Prevent a Disability”.  Dr. Willkomm is a nationally recognized expert in the area of adaptive technology and brought her engaging presentation of “Duct Tape, Velcro and Beyond” to a workshop participants that included farmers with disabilities, adaptive technology professionals, vocational rehabilitation professionals and FSA professionals.

The workshop was held in two different locations, day one in the southern half of the state followed by the northern section the following day.  This allowed 75 participants to attend  the day and location that was most practical for them.  Given that the workshops were day long and held in mid July when farmers were likely to be out in the field, the turn-out was most impressive.
