September was a busy month for the California AgrAbility staff. September was  Latino Health Awareness Month, so working with the Latino Health Council and along with partner, the Arthritis Foundation (AF),  Cal AgrAbility participated in four health fair/festival events in the region .

Working with AF, Cal AgrAbility assisted in developing a 3-week training module with power point for Spanish language consumers.  It is piloting this month.  AF also conducted arthritis self-help workshops in one of the local Migrant Centers.  The Fresno AF Chapter has developed stand-alone displays with AgrAbilility including brochures, booklets, and info sheets. These are being distributed to several Community/Migrant Clinics in the Central Valley, targeting primarily farm employees. Several individuals who will be trained as leaders (trainers) for CalAgrAbility/AF farming with arthritis workshops in southern California have been selected.
