Amanda Erichsen, Shianne Megel and Kylee Willard attended county fairs to increase awareness of the Oklahoma AgrAbility Project. Fairs attended were in Logan County (Guthrie) August 27 – 29; Noble County (Perry) September 12 – 19; and Creek County (Kellyville) September 24 – 27.
Shianne Megel and Sandra Stevenson attended the Rural Health Association of Oklahoma Fall Conference September 17 & 18 in Norman as exhibitors for Oklahoma AgrAbility Project.
Department of Rehabilitation, Visual Services Training – Sandra Stevenson, Oklahoma AgrAbility Project Manager trained 40 Department of Rehabilitation-Visual Services counselors and staff on September 16, 2009. Stevenson discussed the AgrAbility Project and collaboration efforts between both programs that will ensure successful services to farmers and ranchers with disabilities. Oklahoma State University Center for Health Services Class Presentation – Oklahoma AgrAbility Project Co-Director, Linda Jaco presented to 15 members of the Student Organization for Rural Health Services. Jaco provided an overview of AgrAbility services. The Center for Rural Health's mission is to support the Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences and its College of Osteopathic Medicine by seeking to improve healthcare in rural Oklahoma.
