Mike Hansen, a Wisconsin farmer who attended the National AgrAbility Training Workshop in Michigan last month, was the recipient of the 2009 Outstanding Volunteer Award from Easter Seals Wisconsin on November 3. He is an organic beef producer and together with other farmers, markets organic meat products throughout Wisconsin. Mike has been a spokesperson for the AgrAbility of Wisconsin project at board meetings and other programs. He is leading an effort with Wisconsin farmers to provide all the meat needed free of charge to Camp Wawbeek, an Easter Seals Wisconsin camp for youth with disabilities. By providing the first animal, he is leading by example. About six animals are needed to meet the needs of Camp Wawbeek annually.
