Janis Moore continues to write entertaining blog posts and peer newsletters. She is presently planning the June Outreach Project at the Strolling of the Heifers event in Brattleboro Vermont. – Vermont AgrAbility will be doing a “Meet & Greet” with some of the 50,000 attendees of this Top 10 event. The mission is to make the public aware of the AgrAbility Project and to introduce the project to the many farmers who will be in attendance. Check out this event at http://www.strollingoftheheifers.com Got Cows ?
AgrAbility team members took part in a 5 day training on Farm Health and Occupational Safety in April. Some staff members helped to present the intensive workshop while others attended for professional development.
AgrAbility team members were able to bring AgrAbility displays to spring festivals and conduct a poultry processing workshop. UVM Extension provided an opportunity for staff to conduct presentations on the web with Eluminate, and the first topic was on Farming Safely in the Growing season.
Continued outreach through social media seems to be gaining some traction with the use of the Farm Safe blog and Facebook sites. The project is rounding 9000 hits on 36 posts on the blog and nearly 400 friends through facebook.
