Three Nebraska AgrAbility staff members and nine peer supporters hosted an exhibit at Husker Harvest Days near Grand Island, Nebraska in mid-September. The booth theme this year was Arthritis and Agriculture, a real drawing card for Nebraska farmers and ranchers. In addition, a ground to tractor (or combine) lift fabricated by an area vendor was on display, drawing an additional audience to the exhibit. The exhibit attracted crowds each day and is one of the biggest promotional opportunities for AgrAbility in Nebraska. The booth was housed in the Nebraska Farmer tent with other programs and agencies devoted to health and safety issues. Check out the Nebraska AgrAbility Facebook page for pictures of the event.
Grain entrapment prevention was the theme for the National Farm Safety and Health Week promotion by AgrAbility staff. News releases, flyers, and grocery sack inserts were used for the pre-harvest promotion.
