Maine AgrAbility hosted a training in October with NAMI (National Alliance for Mental Illness). The training helped people who work with farmers understand the complexities of mental health. Presenters discussed how to handle suicidality and crisis intervention. It was a great, informative training and staff members are very appreciative for the opportunity to learn about how mental illness affects the farming community! Maine AgrAbility staff now feels more prepared to help farmers.
