Rod Peterson, Sharry Nielsen, and Mike Tufte hosted an exhibit at the Nebraska Farm Bureau annual meeting trade show. Approximately 500 people attended the event, which focused on policy issues in the agricultural industry. Networking with Farm Bureau members as well as other agricultural organizations was the goal of the exhibit.
The Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado, and Missouri AgrAbility projects are working with the Center for Rural Affairs in Nebraska on a grant to reach and teach veterans who want to return to or make a start in agricultural production. Plans are underway to offer educational workshops and farm visits in Nebraska and Kansas beginning in March. To date, Sharry Nielsen, Nebraska, Kerri Ebert, Kansas, and Dr. Bob Fetsch, Colorado, have participated in the planning meetings.
