Minnesota AgrAbility staff participated in three events during the month of September. On September 15th, staff participated in the "Ataxia Walk, Stroll & Roll" event in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. On September 27th, staff participated in the "55 Thrive Senior Expo." These events gave AgrAbility staff the opportunity to share information about the Minnesota AgrAbility Project and the resources available to disabled farmers and their families in Minnesota.
Minnesota AgrAbility staff also participated in the "Rice Home Medical 8th Annual Rehabilitation Education and Equipment Fair" in Alexandria and Willmar, Minnesota. This even was held September 20-21. The event included training on wheel chair seating and positioning and information on new assistive technology devices and services available for disabled individuals on and off the farm. Minnesota AgrAbility staff had the opportunity to visit with occupational therapists, physical therapists, and many other medical staff about AgrAbility and the services available for the farm families they work with.
