Ohio AgrAbility participated in the 50th annual Ohio Farm Science Review on September 18-21. This year the Ohio AgrAbility display area included information and resources from both Ohio AgrAbility and National AgrAbility. Ohio AgrAbility continues working with Bittersweet Farm (Southwest Ohio) in both the greenhouse and the garden areas. The main goal of collaboration is using adaptive and assistive technology to encourage a progression of adult farmers who work in agriculture while overcoming the challenges of autism. Also, Ohio AgrAbility has started work with t he OSU Extension South Center in Piketon. The work is concentrating on how to use irrigation, greenhouses, and techniques studied at the OSU South Center to extend the growing season for Ohio AgrAbility clients.
The Ohio AgrAbility Advisory Committee Meeting was held on September 26. The meeting was a great opportunity for Ohio AgrAbility partners and stakeholders to hear about progress from the AgrAbility client's perspective, updates on partnerships and marketing efforts, and to visit the Universal Design Home and Garage display area at the OSU Molly Caren Center.
