AgrAbility of Georgia hosted a booth at the Team Agriculture Georgia Spring Workshop on March 14 in Fort Valley, Georgia. Team Agriculture Georgia (TAG) is a partnership that works primarily to further outreach efforts and share resources that promote positive change for the benefit of producers, natural resources, and agricultural communities. Created in 1996 by the USDA Food and Agriculture Council in Georgia, TAG's purpose is to identify opportunities for collaborative outreach in the form of educational workshops for small, beginning, and limited resource farmers. TAG is an organization comprised of representatives from federal and state agencies, agricultural groups, state agricultural educational institutions, and non-governmental agricultural organizations.


AgrAbility of Georgia is sponsoring an iPad and Farming with a Disability webinar presented by Dr. Therese Willkomm on Monday, May 13 from 3:30 pm-5:00 pm EDT. This 90 minute webinar will discuss effective ways to use the iPad, iPhone, and various apps in agriculture for farmers with disabilities. Learning objectives are: participants will identify at least 20 apps that can be used by farmers with disabilities; participants will identify how to quickly fabricate a hands-free mounting solution for both the iPhone and the iPad that can be used in the tractor; participants will learn three ways to protect the iPad from water, dust, and extreme temperatures; participants will learn three mounting solutions for the iPad on a wheelchair.
