Indiana AgrAbility staffed a display in the FFA Pavilion at the Indiana State Fair. During the 17 days of the Indiana State Fair, staff and volunteers raised awareness of AgrAbility with publications, a John Deere tractor with a Life Essentials lift, a Bridging Horizons Community Service display, an Arthritis and Agriculture poster, an AgrAbility banner display, an AT tool board, and the AgrAbility video.

Indiana AgrAbility was represented at the INDATA AT Palooza by Steve Swain, the project’s assistive technology specialist. Attendance was light but was significant in who did attend. The display included publications and an AgrAbility banner display.

The Andersons Grain Group held the first annual Charity Golf Outing to Benefit Indiana AgrAbility at the Tippecanoe Country Club in Monticello, IN. The event was a great success and raised $5,000, which The Andersons are generously matching for a total donation of $10,000 to Indiana AgrAbility.

The outing drew over 70 farmers who are customers of The Andersons in addition to 25 employees and sponsors for the event. The majority of the participants had not heard of AgrAbility, so during a lunch presentation given by Kylie Hendress, they enjoyed learning a little about the program and how it helps Indiana farmers.

The Indiana AgrAbility Project greatly appreciates The Andersons and its commitment to educating and helping farmers in Indiana. The $10,000 donation will be used to provide scholarships for farmers and their spouses or caregivers to attend the 2014 AgrAbility National Training Workshop to be held March 31-April 3 in Lexington, Kentucky.
