At West Virginia University Extension's annual meeting in November, WV AgrAbility staff will present during the Programs of Excellence Poster Session. Tom Stockdale will present a poster on the topic of Youth Safe Farms. The poster describes a pilot program that was implemented in selected WV counties to engage farm youth and their families in recognizing safety hazards on their family farm. In the program, the families worked together to find solutions to eliminate the hazards and learn how to avoid and prevent future safety hazards. Featured guests will include Dr. Gypsy Denzine, the new associate provost for engagement and outreach at West Virginia University, WVU President James P. Clements, and Provost Michele Wheatly. See the full agenda here.
The poster event will help kick off WVU Extension's 100th year celebration. Related events during the coming year will highlight WVU Extension's past and focus on the contemporary application of WVU Extension's transformational educational programming into the future.
