NC AgrAbility once again had an interactive booth at the 2014 Southern Farm Show in Raleigh NC. Equipment and tools were on hand for people to explore and try out. Staff enjoyed meeting new friends and catching up with returning AgrAbility farmers.
NC AgrAbility was on RFD-TV in early January, according to visitors at the Southern Farm Show. Multiple reports were made that the Farm Bureau video "NC AgrAbility," filmed in April 2013, was featured on RFD-TV. If anyone saw it or has an exact date or recording, please let NC AgrAbility staff know.
February 18, 2014: The NC AgrAbility Advisory Board met in Clayton, NC. Revisions to advisory board documents, project updates, and current year deliverable numbers were presented. This meeting was broadcasted live over Google Hangouts on Air and then posted to YouTube to accommodate members from across the state who could not attend. NC AgrAbility will continue to use this format to best accommodate program partners and members as budgets and travel flexibility shrink for all organizations.
March 14, 2014 Dr. Mary Hildebrand with East Carolina University Occupational Therapy will be conducting training titled "Cultivating Accessible Agriculture with NC AgrAbility" in Kannapolis, NC. All professionals who may work with farmers with disabilities are welcome and continuing education credits will be available. The session will conclude with lunch and a farm site assessment.
