Nine health professionals participated in a one-day training to learn more about AgrAbility, the culture and hazards of farming and ranching, and return-to-work strategies for farmers and ranchers with disabilities. The AOTA-approved training was held at the Eastern 4-H Center near Gretna. UNL Extension Educator Sharry Nielsen facilitated the class and gave an overview of AgrAbility. The lead instructor was Dr. Christine Hutchinson from Franciscan Care Services in northeast NE. ESN staff Rod Peterson and Raina Gulbrandson taught about AT and resources available. Ed Sholting, a NE AgrAbility client, hosted a site visit to see AT in action.
AgrAbility staff Nancy Frecks, Sharry Nielsen, and Kenny Jurgens attended the NTW and enjoyed the variety of learning opportunities offered. Staff set up a display featuring the Peer Support program and training offered in Nebraska.
