Colorado

Like many AgrAbility projects, CO AgrAbility staff have been invited to numerous county fair activities this summer. One unique invite was held at the Elbert County Fair in Kiowa, Colorado, on August 2nd. The Mountain Plain Border Collie Association held a stock dog trial during the fair designed to promote the Border Collie as a working stock dog, and they included Candy Leathers from the Colorado AgrAbility Project as a presenter before the trials. The opportunity to educate the public regarding the project's mission and to network with stock dog enthusiasts and sheep ranchers from the local area, as well as Utah, Wyoming, and New Mexico, was well received. The display booth was a popular stop-in site, as it was one of the only covered shelters available.
