Site of CO regional training eventThe AgrAbility Regional Training Workshop in Ft. Collins Colorado on September 29 and October 1st was a great success. NAP Partners at Goodwill of the Finger Lakes and the Colorado AgrAbility Project collaborated to provide a workshop designed to serve professionals, peers, and consumers in a regional event. The training was held at the Colorado State University Agricultural Research Development and Education Center (ARDEC). Presenters and speakers focused on FSA loans, business planning for farmers, as well as veterans and farming. Colorado AgrAbility clients presented on successful niche markets in which they have been involved, including a presentation on "Rabbits and Poultry for Fun and Profit" and an interesting presentation on "Permaculture Farming for People with Disabilities". CO Regional training event group picSteve Swain from Indiana provided a snapshot to site assessments, which was useful and interesting. The two-day event ended with tours of the Budweiser Brewery and the CSU Veterinary Training Hospital. There was representation from Colorado, Nebraska, Kansas, Indiana, New York, New Mexico, New Jersey, Vermont, and Wyoming.
