Maine

Maine AgrAbility served as an "authentic audience" for Leavitt Area High School students during their presentations on farming with a disability The students were tasked with preparing a short PowerPoint presentation set to music to present different case studies they created about Maine farmers with disabilities. It was exciting to see young minds discovering ways to adapt tools and rise to the challenge to assist a farmer.

Maine AgrAbility is gearing up to participate in the annual Maine Agricultural Trades Show next month in Augusta. We are thrilled to be working with Ron Jester of the Mid-Atlantic AgrAbility Project to present farm safety workshops to several farm commodity groups during the three-day event.

A newly published book, Unique Maine Farms, by a Maine writer and photographer features stories and photos from over 185 unique farms in Maine. The Maine AgrAbility program is featured as part of one farm story, discussing the unique nature of the farmer and their challenges, and how our program assisted in their continued success. http://www.uniquemainefarms.com/uniquemainefarms.com/Pre-Order_Unique_Maine_Farms_Book.html
