By invitation from the Ohio Department of Veterans Services, Ohio AgrAbility staff shared the Ohio AgrAbility message with military veterans and friends who attended the induction of two Adamsville, Ohio, veterans into the Homegrown by Heroes program. The event honored Scott and Jean Bush of Bush Valley Farm in Adamsville, both of whom are retired from the U.S. Air Force. The honor was presented to Scott by Ohio Department of Agriculture Director David T. Daniels, along with Ohio Department of Veterans Services Director Tim Gorrell and Farmer Veteran Coalition Executive Director Michael O'Gorman

Ohio AgrAbility staff attended a meeting with Ohio's 2nd district Congressman, Brad Wenstrup, hosted by East End Veterans Memorial Garden and Ohio AgrAbility and East End Veterans Memorial Garden founder Joe Corcoran. The invitation was extended in order for Ohio AgrAbility staff to share information about additional raised beds that YouthBuild, from Easter Seals Tristate, plans to add to those built last year. Also discussed was information pertaining to the Cincinnati VA Hospital's use of the garden as a horticultural therapy lab and the commercial success of the agriculture endeavor as it pertains to veterans' production agriculture in rural settings. Congressman Wenstrup and his staff were an excellent audience who, as a team, provided excellent feedback. Ohio AgrAbility thanks Congressman Wenstrup for his interest and commitment to his constituents, veterans, and agriculture.
