Olives are being grown in southern Georgia. Georgia's staff spent one day learning how olives are grown, processed, and marketed. This new crop in Georgia has some potential for AgrAbility farmer clients. An interesting fact is that olives were grown in Georgia in the 1700's but were discontinued and are now making a comeback.
Staff participated in a wide variety of workshops that seek to promote and educate the next generation of young, beginning, small and underserved farmers:
AgAware, Tifton Georgia July 17 (hosted by AgGeorgia Farm Credit)
Team Agriculture Georgia (TAG), May 20, Columbus GA
Sound and Sensible Organics, May 5, College Park, GA (hosted by NCAT).
