The North Carolina AgrAbility Partnership participated in the recent Arthritis, AgrAbility, and Rural Health Conference in Knoxville, Tennessee. Five NCAP partner representatives attended the conference, including Shirley Wilson, outreach coordinator for Disability Partners, Shelby Kennerly, NC Department of Health and Human Services Assistive Technology, and John Paul Owens, NC A&T State University, PD/NCAP (Photo). Also attending were Dr. Paula Faulkner, NC A&T State University, and Jessica Wilburn, North Carolina Agromedicine Institute. Feedback from these participants indicated that the conference was well-designed with useful information, resources, a good balance of presentations, hands-on activities, and field trips.
The North Carolina AgrAbility Partnership collaborated with AgrAbility for Pennsylvanians to conduct a management and assessment workshop on the campus of North Carolina A&T State University. Dr. Connie Baggett, project director, AgrAbility for Pennsylvanians, served as the trainer for extension agents, university faculty, and NCAP personnel. The photo shows Dr. Baggett (r.) with some of the workshop attendees at the university farm.
