Maine AgrAbility Project Manager Lani Carlson has been involved in several activities with the newly formed Farmer Veteran Coalition of Maine (FVC-ME).
On December 3rd, AgrAbility joined FVC-ME at the Blacksmith Restaurant in Searsport for the viewing of the film Ground Operations- Battlefields to Farmfields. The snowy evening event drew many supporters as well as Commissioner of Agriculture Walter Whitcomb.
Several plans are scheduled to promote the FVC at the upcoming Agricultural Trades Shows, in Augusta in mid-January. AgrAbility works closely with both the FVC-ME and the Maine Beginning Farmers Resource Network during this event to provide education and resources to beginning and transitioning farmers.
