The North Carolina AgrAbility Partnership (NCAP) participated in a workshop "Integrating Agromedicine into Agriculture, Youth, Food, and Family Programs" at the annual conference for North Carolina Cooperative Extension agents on December 9, 2015, in Raleigh, North Carolina. NCAP partners included Robin Tutor-Marcom and Julia Storm - North Carolina Agromedicine Institute; Tammy Koger - NC Assistive Technology Program; Maria Ruatto - NC Farmworker Health Program; and John Paul Owens and Dr. Fletcher Barber - NC A&T State University. The workshop helped the agents (1) understand the health and safety concerns of farmers, farmworkers, and families in the U.S. and NC; (2) become familiar with practical programs that reach adult and youth audiences from farmers, to Spanish-speaking farmworkers, to rural youth, and to entire families; and (3) acquire information and resources to begin offering collaborative programs in their areas.
