North Carolina Assistive Technology Program (NCATP) Director Tammy Koger presented at the "Bridging the Informational Resources Gap: Connecting Farmers and Veterans to USDA Programs" representing NC AgrAbility. Over 75 small farmers and veterans attended the session focusing on assistive technology in farming. Since the presentation, NCATP has been contacted by three veterans who attended the workshop. Mr. John Paul Owens, NC AgrAbility, also collaborates on the Bridging the Informational Resources Gap grant.
The North Carolina AgrAbility Partnership (NCAP) participated in the North Carolina Agritourism Networking Association's 10th Annual Agritourism Conference in Winston-Salem, NC, January 14-15, 2016, through displays, sponsorship and lectures. Robin Tutor-Marcom, director of the North Carolina Agromedicine Institute, presented the sessions on farm safety. Approximately 150 farmers attended the conference, including North Carolina Commissioner of Agriculture Steve Troxler.
