Nebraska

As part of its goals for sustainability, the Nebraska AgrAbility team met for a working retreat to set goals, work on their electronic media, and revise their marketing plan. The retreat began with comments and direction from Tyler Thomas, social media specialist - university communications, University of Nebraska-Lincoln. During the two-and-a-half days, the team worked on making changes to, and updating, the website, developing marketing strategies for Facebook and Twitter, and determining personnel for various projects. Nancy Frecks, Nebraska Extension educator, coordinated the retreat and will continue to lead the efforts.

Emily Freudenburg, rural rehab specialist, attended the Cow/Calf College at UNL's Meat Animal Research Center in Clay Center, NE. She will use the information she learned with clients and in networking with supporters in the ag industry. Of special interest were presentations on ag-literacy, cattle handling techniques, the upcoming new veterinary regulations, and information on MARC and its current research.
