Indiana AgrAbility was welcomed by Indiana FFA as an exhibitor in the FFA Pavilion at the 2016 Indiana State Fair. The exhibit included a John Deere tractor with a custom Life Essentials seat lift, AgrAbility brochures, a TV showing the AgrAbility video, arthritis brochures, beginning farmer/veteran resources, a Bridging Horizons Community Service Contest display, and Vocational Rehabilitation Services brochures.


Indiana AgrAbility unfunded partner, the Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana (RHI), conducted an in-service training for their occupational and physical therapists where Steve Swain presented Indiana AgrAbility services and resources. RHI is a leading rehabilitation hospital in Indiana and the nation treating spinal cord injuries, amputations, and brain injuries.


Steve Swain, Indiana AgrAbility rural rehabilitation specialist, attended a training conducted by the Indiana Assistive Technology Project (INDATA) at Easter Seals Crossroads. INDATA is a partner of the Indiana AgrAbility Project and is the AT Act Project for Indiana. The full-day training was "Assistive Technology for Individuals who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing". The speakers provided information on hearing loss and available AT.

On August 2nd, Cindy Chastain spoke to 30 representatives in the Southwestern Indiana office of the NRCS. She presented material on AgrAbility as well as options available to military veterans. She also discussed the Purdue Beginning Farmer/Rancher Program, i.e., what it is, and what types of things it can offer to beginning farmers and veterans.
