Staff spoke at the Candler County Young Farmers meeting on January 19, 2017, regarding the AgrAbility project in Georgia. The group was presented with an overview of the project followed by an in-depth discussion of how the program assists farmers with disabilities. Forty-three farmers attended and had lots of questions about assistive technologies. All attendees were given AgrAbility literature.
Plans continue to develop for the expansion of the Georgia AgrAbility demonstration farm in Tifton (Farm & Garden Learning Station). Staff continued planning meetings with the Extension personnel who oversee the Master Gardener program. Soon, GA AgrAbility will host a virtual meeting for the Master Gardeners and will host the second in-person brainstorming session in June 2017.
