The Western Farm Show is the Midwest's best indoor farm show with hundreds of exhibitors, acres of things to see and do, the latest in farm and ranch technology, and more! Missouri AgrAbility and its collaborative partners from MU Extension, Lincoln University Cooperative Extension, Brain Injury Association of Missouri, University of Missouri Kansas City School of Pharmacy on the MU campus, and Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, displayed at the 2017 Health and Safety Roundup coordinated by the Missouri Farm Bureau. The Health and Safety Roundup, located on the upper level of the American Royal Complex, features interactive and educational health and safety exhibits for the entire family. Participants had an opportunity to learn how Missouri AgrAbility and its collaborative partners go about helping farmers and ranchers with disabilities with their employment needs. Displays included videos of assistive technologies and adapted devices used by farmers and ranchers with disabilities; hands-on interactive hearing and respiratory protection displays; and informational booths providing information about Missouri AgrAbility, farming/ranching with disabilities, and financial resources from social service organizations, Veteran Administration, and USDA agencies.
Missouri AgrAbility leadership team met face-to-face to discuss current and future statewide programmatic goals, explore long-term sustainability options, funding clients who will attend 2017 National Training Workshop, training needs of Lincoln University outreach workers, updates about fee for service agreement with Veterans Administration, and ongoing development of state special specific resources.
