Dr. Glen Rains conducted a three-day training beginning May 26 with 22 firefighters and EMTs on agricultural accident extrication. Training at the UGA Tifton Campus consisted of in-class presentations, a farm field trip, and hands-on extrication exercises in rollover, PTO, baler, and grain auger rescues. They also learned about the services available through AgrAbility.

Staff member Paige Tidwell is instructing a 14-week on-line graduate course in assistive technology for George Washington University's master's in rehabilitation counseling program. The class is made up students from all over the country and includes several veterans who have recently retired from military service due to their own service-connected disability or chronic condition. Each week Paige incorporates AgrAbility into the lecture, whether it is to highlight specific technology found in the AT Toolbox, or videos that speak to the quality of life and what AgrAbility has meant to farmers.

Staff continued work on The Farm & Garden Learning Station, a demonstration area based on universal design concepts. A webinar was held on May 2 for Master Gardeners who are partnering with AgrAbility to design the gardening portion. Staff also facilitated an in-person brainstorming session on June 16 to further explore ideas for display areas.
