TX VegOut Farms tourTexas AgrAbility hosted a farm tour at VegOut Farms in Pattison, Texas, on October 20. Brenda and Jeff Koch showed 32 attendees through their hydroponics operation.

VegOut Farms lettuceVegOut Farms raises lettuces and tomatoes for H-E-B, one of the largest grocery stores in Texas. Both Jeff and Brenda are educators, and their goal for their operation is to raise healthy locally-grown produce and teach others about the benefits of agriculture.


The Prairie View Battleground to Breaking Ground Ag Workshop was held on October 21. Forty-four veterans and beginning farmers and ranchers attended, learning about Texas AgrAbility, ideas for starting an agriculture business, business planning basics, and funding opportunities.

James MossMr. James Moss was the veteran speaker at the Prairie View Battleground workshop. Mr. Moss retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service and is now the owner of Moss Family Farms, a small family farm in Hempstead, Texas. They sell at a farmers market and produce specialty fruits and vegetables. Check out their website by clicking here.
