Denver's Botanical Gardens Chatfield Farms has been conducting a beginning farmers course for disabled veterans in Colorado. Colorado AgrAbility was invited to attend and critique their formal presentation of agriculture business plans. Following the presentations, the coordinator asked if CO AgrAbility might be able to return and conduct a class session on business planning for new farmers.
After several years of reaching out to Colorado commodity groups, the Phillips County Bean Growers invited CO AgrAbility to attend Bean Conference 2018 at the county events center. It was a great event for the local growers to get together and talk beans. CO AgrAbility had a booth there and staff were able to talk to the growers and showcase AgrAbility. The local 4-H ladies group provided a five-bean chili lunch with a cinnamon roll to top it off.
