Missouri

To help celebrate 30 years of the Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education program - and plan the next 30 years of productive and sustainable American agriculture - nearly 1,000 people gathered in St. Louis April 2-April 5. Missouri AgrAbility staff members from both the University of Missouri and Lincoln University attended the Our Farms, Our Future Conference: Stage Set for Next 30 Years of Sustainable Agriculture national conference by participating in professional development sessions, presenting posters, networking with veteran groups, and visiting Missouri farmers and ranchers, including AgrAbility customers.

Survivors of brain injury continue to become aware of the Missouri AgrAbility Project during Brain Injury Association of Missouri (BIA-MO) support group meetings. Maureen Cunningham, BIA-MO executive director, met with individuals of the support group in Columbia, Missouri. Employment options were discussed during the meeting, including farming for individuals who traveled between 50 and 75 miles each way to the meeting.
