Thirty veterans and beginning farmers and ranchers have been chosen for the next cohort of the Battleground to Breaking Ground project. The basic training weekend for the fourth cohort will be held August 24-26. Cohort participants will receive 16 weeks of business planning education, followed by six to eight months of hands-on production agriculture education.


The new Veteran Farmer Streamlined Eligibility Program, in partnership with USDA Farm Service Agency, has officially launched. Nineteen applicants were selected from across the United States for the pilot program, which will start August 24, 2018.


Texas AgrAbility staff conducted a training for 45 occupational therapy students at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in Austin, Texas. Erin Kimbrough and Makenzie McLaurin presented information about AgrAbility and had students do a mock assessment on two example AgrAbility cases.
