October 16-18, Georgia AgrAbility staff attended the 2018 Sunbelt Agriculture Exposition located in Moultrie, GA. This is North America's premier farm show with over 1,200 vendors participating. Georgia AgrAbility was represented at the expo as "The AgrAbility Farm and Garden Learning Station." Three Georgia AgrAbility clients joined the staff at the expo to share their stories with those attending the exposition. Vice President Pence also made a surprise visit to the expo to show his support to the farming community. Overall,the exposition was a success, as staff engaged many farmers while discussing AgrAbility information, assistive technologies, and how to become a client. Staff attended the Farmer Veteran Coalition Georgia stakeholder conference, United We Farm: Georgia, October 12, where Georgia AgrAbility Veteran Relations Coordinator Chris Dorsey was able to speak to those in attendance about the Georgia AgrAbility project. Those in attendance were provided the opportunity to meet and network with other farmer veterans, visit with farm service organizations, and hear from a panel of successful farmer veterans.
