It is finally feeling like fall in Texas. Texas AgrAbility staff joined staff at Georgia AgrAbility for a partnership and food safety training for veterans in early October. Rick Peterson, Makenzie McLaurin, and Jason Morgan traveled to Athens, Georgia, for a two-day train-the-trainer. Staff participated in the training and "mock farmers market" where they identified produce safety hazards.
The Georgetown Battleground to Breaking Ground Free Agriculture Business Workshop will be held on December 1. The workshop will feature a panel of veteran farmers and ranchers. There will also be presentations on rural business ideas, business planning basics, possibilities for farming and ranching with a disability, programs and resources for veterans, and a funding panel.
