Mind MapJoBeth Rath was in attendance at the STAND (Stakeholders Team up for Action in New York Dairy) workshop. The New York Center for Agricultural Medicine and Health (NYCAMH) established a group of stakeholders for this "whole systems in the room" workshop on December 10-12 in Cooperstown, NY. The more than 45 stakeholders included agriculture organizations, farmers and farm wives/farm husbands, government, health care, mental health organizations, distributors, and dairy organizations.

The purpose of the meeting was to develop collaborative solutions for addressing the toxic stress crisis currently affecting dairy farmers in New York (which applies to many states in the country). Each participant was required to participate actively, seeking action items that would resolve the challenges addressed. Look for details about the output from this event soon!
