Michigan AgrAbility highlighted the dangers of below freezing cold weather by sharing Nebraska AgrAbility's post of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) "Cold Weather - Keep Yourself Safe" infographic. Also shared were some tips for calf safety shared by Yarde Veterinary Services.


Michigan AgrAbility staff had a booth at Ag Action Day at Kalamazoo Valley Community College. Ag Action Day provides a full day of educational sessions focusing on agriculture, food safety, and home gardening topics featuring a trade show highlighting products and services provided by local businesses.


Michigan AgrAbility's own Ned Stoller gave two webinar presentations during January: one for Michigan State University's Extension 2019 Beginning Farmer webinar series (discussed in last month's e-note). Ned spoke about the physical workload of starting a farm...hours per day, days per year, lifting, bending, crawling, carrying, digging, reaching. On January 30, Ned and Curt Bishop M.P.T., Cert M.D.T. Cert AIB, presented "Working with Shoulder Injuries" during National AgrAbility's Virtual National Training Workshop webinars.


AGR Beef Preview ShowIf you were in the neighborhood of Michigan State University during February 8-10, you could have attended the Alpha Gamma Rho 2019 AGR Beef Preview Show at the MSU Pavilion!! Last year, the Brothers of AGR raised $16,000 for Michigan AgrAbility. They would like to raise more with your help and with everyone's great support... that can happen!


Michigan AgrAbility shared information regarding American Agri-Women's Leadership Academy. The Leadership Academy is a free webinar series designed to supplement and sustain the live leadership development events for members and non-members. This year's webinar series "Cultivating Resiliency for Women in Agriculture" is being held December 2018-April 2019. The January and February sessions are complete but look for: March 8 at 12 noon CST - "Increasing Your Joy and Happiness While Living a Farm Life" and April 12 at 12 noon CST - "Putting it All Together."
