Man working in raised bedsOhio AgrAbility staff are busy planning a workshop on February 26. "Building Independence through Agriculture" will focus on how agriculture and horticulture can be viable work options for individuals with cognitive disabilities. Speakers and panelists will provide insight on adaptive employment models and identify resources and assistive technology to support workers in these settings. Workshop participants will gain an understanding of the workplace opportunities and ways to overcome barriers for both the agricultural employer and their workers.

OAP staff are working with the keynote speaker, Extension educators, and community partners to develop a list of resources for potential funding of adaptive equipment and modifications, assistive technology, and job and technical support.
