Georgia AgrAbility co-sponsored the Agritourism 101 Workshop held in Alto, Georgia. Jaemor Farms hosted the event. The program featured the following topics on agritourism: customer service and working with the media; insurance considerations and an ADA overview. Highlights included a walking tour of Jaemor Farms and a farmers' panel. The audience also learned about the state's Georgia Grown initiative and the Chestatee Chattahoochee RC&D program. Information on USDA resources were also shared. Surveys indicated that 93% of the participants felt more confident to operate an agritourism operation based on the workshop. (August 28th)
