Alaska

In October, Alaska AgrAbility was promoted in Wasilla and Fairbanks. The Wasilla Health Fair brought in many locals for blood tests, flu shots, and to learn about organizations looking to support their community. The Fairbanks Go Winter! Expo and Gun Show (10/26-27) provided ample opportunity to get the word out about Alaska AgrAbility to a diverse clientele.

Also in October, outreach engagements included two annual conferences: the Alaska Environmental Health Association Conference in Anchorage (10/9/-10/11), and the Alaska Federation of Natives (AFN) (10/17-10/19) that was hosted in Fairbanks this year. Approximately 6,000 delegates, participants, observers, vendors, and visitors attend AFN annually. The AFN convention features evening cultural performances, an arts showcase, an exhibitor and health fair, a legal clinic, and dozens of workshops. The proceedings are broadcast live statewide via television and radio and webcast to 70 countries worldwide.
