Cold winter months bring lots of networking opportunities at conferences. Tennessee AgrAbility Project (TNAP) exhibited at the 10th annual TN Veterans Business Association Expo. Great expo for spreading the word about TNAP and their partner Farmer Veteran Coalition of TN for veterans who want to farm. Staff promoted AgrAbility services, upcoming beginning farmer education, and the next TN New Farmer Academy classes starting in March 2020.

TN AgrAbility at TARS trainingTN has partnered with KY Department of Agriculture and with TN Association of Rescue Squads (TARS) to help farmers and emergency management staff build networks and trainings across state. TNAP exhibited at the East TN Grain Conference and hosted Brian Robinson, the TARS state training coordinator, who presented on grain and equipment safety. Remember to always think safety first. TNAP is leading the efforts with Extension for trainings across the state. Even though farm safety is not the first priority topic of AgrAbility, in these trainings with emergency personnel who may be the first to see agricultural producers who might have physical challenges, the goal is for them to remember the AgrAbility program and refer customers to TNAP.
