AgrAbility PA prepared new ways to interact with those who would have attended Penn State's Ag Progress Days (APD) in person as the event rolled out virtually in mid-August. The annual event typical draws upwards of 50,000 visitors over the three-days it runs. AgrAbility PA offered an on-demand video highlighting AgrAbility and featured examples of farmers who have been assisted. Staff members highlighted resources and assistive technology, and they held interactive live sessions (presentations and Q&A) on social media. The event as a whole featured live and on-demand webinars and videos, Zoom-based town-hall-style meetings with agricultural leaders and officials, and virtual tours of farms and research projects. Take a look at the APD website for more information.

AgrAbility PA is excited to be a part of the upcoming AgrAbility Virtual State Fair! Follow @AgrAbility Virtual State Fair on Facebook and @AgrAbilityVSF on Twitter. Looking forward to being part of this collaborative effort that will bind and strengthen the projects in a collective way.

Picture of a brochure for a Braun assistive technology work lightDuring a recent AgrAbility PA farm assessment, a client demonstrated a handy piece of assistive technology: a rechargeable, magnetic LED work light. This light is magnetic, and has hooks on each end, making it possible to place it in multiple locations. It can be used for working on equipment, around the barn and shop, and in many other settings. The work light can be used to light up a toolbox workspace while charging.
It is a low-cost light with many possibilities! The AgrAbility PA staff loves learning about ideas for assistive technology options.
