Kansas

Kansas AgrAbility staff and supporters had a great time participating in the AgrAbility State Fair! KAP would like to thank everyone that participated, liked, and shared social media posts, and helped spread awareness of AgrAbility. Staff had a great time learning about other state programs and the people that make them happen, thank you!

Kansas AgrAbility Coordinator Tawnie Larson is a member of the K-State Research and Extension Stress & Resiliency Team that was formed partially from the Spring 2020 eXtension Impact Collaborative Innovation and as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The KSRE Team is receiving funding for QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Gatekeeper Trainer Certification through the USDA Farm and Ranch Stress Assistance Network grant awarded to their region. Mental Health First Aid and Suicide Prevention training was planned for the 2020 NTW. Due to the cancellation of the NTW, Larson would like to encourage other AgrAbility staff to seek out training opportunities through their extension programs or conduct group training for community members. More information about the QPR Institute can be found at https://qprinstitute.com/.
