Staff attended Niagara University's "Emergency Management Disability Awareness Training (EM DAT)" event in March. The intent of this ongoing training is to address Nebraska-specific emergency management needs and develop a program that serves the individuals of the state, including the rural farm/ranch population. Nebraska joined New York as the only states in the country to provide this innovative emergency management disability awareness training that is all-inclusive of people with disabilities, providing appropriate ways to respond to and include persons with disabilities, access, and functional needs.

Zoom screenshot with PowerPoint slide on left and 5 participants in vertical screens on rtThe team spent some time creating the perfect elevator pitch for Nebraska AgrAbility with input from board members and many individuals not associated with AgrAbility. The goal was to describe AgrAbility quickly, in a way that creates an understandable introduction to those inside and outside rural culture. The final product is:
"Nebraska AgrAbility WORKS" (slogan)
"AgrAbility serves Nebraska farmers and ranchers experiencing an illness or injury that limits their ability to perform routine tasks. We recommend creative solutions to continue working safely. This service provides hope by preserving an agricultural way of life."
