The Nebraska AgrAbility team is pleased to announce that after a two-year process in coordination with Nebraska Farm Bureau, LB 380 has passed in the Nebraska Legislature! LB 380 will provide $300,000 a year for the next two years specifically to be used for assistive technology for Nebraska farmers and ranchers with disabilities. LB 380 will be eligible for renewal in two years. This funding will become available as part of the State of Nebraska budget sometime after July 1. AgrAbility would like to thank Nebraska Farm Bureau for their help with the legislative process, Senator Murman for sponsoring LB 380, and testimonies of NE AgrAbility's loyal clients that sealed the deal. This would not have happened without them.
Staff lined up an Action Trackchair demonstration for an AgrAbility client. This chair showed him so many ways that he could continue to be useful on the farm after a double lower amputation. NE AgrAbility thanks the Action Trackchair representative from Minnesota for coming down to demo this and for bringing the new Nebraska dealer along as well. Staff will be submitting this request for the client to VR in hopes that it will be funded.
