Indiana AgrAbility Project, Indiana AgVets Project, and the Farmer Veteran Coalition of Indiana hosted an event for farmer veterans on October 9th at the Porter Farm in Danville, Indiana. The event included presentations by Dr Betty Feng on food safety, Ed Sheldon on the Indiana AgVets project, Cindy Chastain on AgrAbility, and Sara Creech on the FVC-IN plans and how veterans can get involved. A farm tour included a demonstration of how to build a rain garden as well as discussions on the other farm activities; beekeeping, sheep, Scottish Highland cattle, meat chickens, raised garden beds, and more! The event included a barbeque lunch, and many stayed afterwards for networking and a social event.
