Mandy's Farm, the New Mexico AgrAbility Program non-profit partner, is hosting agricultural apprentices and public-school students who will be transitioning from school to community services. These hosted apprentices will learn about food-growing activities with the dedicated staff at Mandy's Farm. Occupational therapy students from the University of New Mexico will support Mandy's farm and the agricultural apprentices through assistive technology assessments and trials.
New Mexico AgrAbility staff were invited speakers at the AgriFuture Conference, May 18 -19 in Albuquerque, hosted by the NM Department of Agriculture. The presentation, "An Introduction to AgrAbility," was delivered by Dr. Sonja Koukel (PI) and Ms. Tracy Agiovlasitis, project partner and NM Technology Assistance Program director. About 150 attendees participating in the two-day conference that included military veterans and families, NM tribal members, ag producers, mentors, students, and more.
