Dee Jepsen (program director) and Laura Akgerman (disability services coordinator) collaborated with Karen Funkenbusch from Missouri AgrAbility, Jessie Calero from New Mexico AgrAbility, and Heather Kelejian from North Carolina Cooperative Extension to write "Accessibility and Inclusion as an Approach to Enhancing Local Extension Programs," which will be published in the Journal of Human Science and Extension. The authors gave overviews of their accessible agriculture and horticulture projects with a focus on urban agriculture. The expertise and creativity of our AgrAbility and Extension colleagues never ceases to leave staff grateful to work with such collaborative and talented people.
Ohio AgrAbility staff participated in a tractor in-service for new agriculture and natural resources Extension educators. Topics included safe operation of tractors, skid loaders, lawn mowers, and utility vehicles, and Rachel Jarman (rural rehabilitation coordinator) and Laura Akgerman gave an overview of Ohio AgrAbility services, tractor modifications, workshops, and educational programs. It was exciting to meet new educators and share Ohio AgrAbility services and educational workshop information with them.
