Karin Rasmussen with Kansas AgrAbility teamed up with K-State Research and Extension, and the Southwest Kansas Area on Aging and Department of Health to demonstrate simple solutions to daily barriers. A display of common solutions for mobility, vision, communications, and in-home safety were included for attendees seeking simple solutions to make their daily lives safer and to keep them actively participating in chores and daily routines.

Tawnie Larson, Kansas AgrAbility project coordinator, presented a field day workshop with members of SAVE Farm on using hand tools in the garden and around the farm. The presentation included tips on keeping joints healthy with easy-to-do exercises, tool maintenance, sizing tools to the person, using ergonomic tools, safety, and demonstrations. The presentation concluded with harvesting purple potatoes in the field and snacking on some tasty yet raw potatoes.
